Jane Austen uses a writing style that is slow and subtly burning towards characters. She also uses the use of embarrassment to enhance the humorous aspect of her writing. Austen creates Mr Collins as a humorous character which results in agonising situations of embarrassment. The readers feel the full effect of Mr Collins when he engages in intercourse with other characters which creates this painful embarrassment.

For instance, Elizabeth and Mr Darcy have a converse about what their conversation topic should be, resulting in a humorous chapter of laughs and jokes. Austen writes in situations that quit the reader to distinguish comical direction, in which the capital characters, Mr Collins and Elizabeth are made fun of.
