Trying to decide how somebody smells or what they are thinking can be super difficult. I olfactory sensation like Alice Walker goes from a effervescing child to a very depressed little girl and teenager, which I believe it would be hard for any one(a) to not procure depressed if something like that happens to them. You would feel for her no matter what but I think since it happened to her at such a young age it makes the reader feel for her even more. She not only lost sight in one eye that day she lost part of herself as well.
The white glob, as she called it, over her eye changed her life so much. She became self conscious and as she stated she neer raised her head for some years. I think many people can relate to her in this situation because everyone has been bullied at least one point in time in their life and when you have something people can make fun of it makes it even worse. People, especially kids, are so mean to one another because they think they are being cool. The insolent and fun-loving child began to let her grades slip and school and even hid from relatives. No child should have to deal with that.
