Liberty, Equality, and Freedom… For Some Every history textbook since elementary civilise has been relaying the same information, America was founded on liberty, equality, and freedom. The colonies were always a prop that British settlers had escaped to to free themselves of religious and political tyranny. The accuracy is however that there were many different experiences being had when the colonies were being founded. The original American settlers, the intrinsic Americans, or the Indians had quite the awakening when strange people began to project up. The Europeans arrived and began settling what would later become America and although the English diligent in trade with the Indians other people were not so friendly. Spaniards were especially cruel to the Native Americans. For example in 1598, Juan de Oñate led the Acoma Massacre where the Spanish slaughtered approximately 800 Native Americans in a three-day battle (Massacres). Native Americans were never authentically viewed as equals, more like an obstacle at quantify and a trading partner at others.

Even when they werent being slaughtered the settlement of America was not very serious to them. English settlers brought indisposition from Europe with them and some of these diseases absolutely devastated the Indian population. By 1617 when smallpox reached Massachusetts Bay, nine out of cardinal remaining Indians in the area would die because of it. The Europeans saw the disease as an act of immortal too; they didnt thus far have an inkling that they were the cause of it. William Bradford, the leader of Plymouth from 1622 to 1656 wrote it pleased God to visit these Indians with a great sickness, and such a mortalitie that of a 1000, indicating the pilgrims beliefs that a higher power was the cause of all this...
