How does the fabricator change without ?Greasy Lake??From the beginning of the story, the cashier (who is the main character) gives us a glimpse of what he was the like during that night. In the first paragraph, the narrator indicates that the he is someone destructive, a bad ass. This can be seen from quotes such as ?We were on the hook(predicate) characters then?we were bad?. He also shows how bad he is in terms of appearance, ?we wore torn up leather jackets, slouched well-nigh with toothpicks in our mouths?. The narrator and his gang, Dig by and Jeff, did anything they could to get themselves high, from sniffing gumwood to ?what somebody claimed was cocaine?. He then describes his adolescence or pre-adulthood as merely ?a time when courtesy and winning ship canal went out of style? and that ??it was good to be bad?, like giving an excuse for his own wrongs.
Later on the night him and his gang go up to Greasy Lake as usual, to begin with cal conduct Waken by the Indians, which is ?clarity of its waters?. This led to violent subsequent events later on in the story, as the narrator get?s chased and beaten up, and during these events, the narrator realizes he was indeed a bad kid, but learns through the tough way that there are even worse people in this world.
