Every commissioned officer is required to sacrifice a bachelors degree, and I thought what degree would benefit me and my men as an officer, the answer for me was history. I must be competent to know past military mistakes and achievements to know what works in the field. I am currently a combat engineer, provided I am switching to military watchword. Military intelligences primary focus is to sense out who the enemy is and what they are doing.
In history, we ask similar questions. We aim to find out what a certain people was, and what they did. Being a history major will directly help me end-to-end my career in the military.
I chose to be a history major because there are so many things to observe and explore within the discipline. I am intrigued by all the different ideas and actions of the people that came before us.
